Disk
space
The amount of disk storage your virtual server is allocated.
Traffic
The amount of data transferred by viewing your website or by downloading files
or mail. Traffic does not include upload bandwidth (you pay outward-bound
traffic only).
Domain
name
Unique name that identifies your internet site. We host .com, .net, .org and
international domain names. Your web site is accessible as
"http://www.your-server.com" or "http://your-server.com"
IP
address
An IP address is four bytes long and identifies your host on the Internet.
Mailboxes
Private storage boxes for your mail. You can download the mail using 3rd party
email programs (Outlook, Netscape, Eudora, etc..) from anywhere.
Aliases
Aliases allow mail that is sent to one address to be redirected to another
address. They also allow mail to be piped through programs.
Autoresponders
An autoresponder can be set up on your server to automatically send an email
response to anyone that sends an email message to a specific address.
Autoresponders can be very useful in providing information about your business
or can be used simply as a way of notifying the email sender that their message
has been received.
Mailing
lists
Automated management of Internet mailing lists. Users can add and remove
themselves from the list, obtain information about the list, obtain files
through email, etc... We run Majordomo on Unix and IMail on Windows2000. They
support multiple mailing lists on the same virtual server.
FTP
accounts
FTP (File Transfer Protocol) allows you to upload and maintain your virtual
server 24 hours a day. You can use any 3rd party FTP client program.
Telnet
Telnet allows you to log in your Unix virtual server for shell access. We
support tcsh, sh, csh and ksh.
Anonymous
FTP
Allows users to download/upload files in a public area, separate from your web
site.
Domain
pointer
A domain pointer is an additional domain that points to your virtual server. For
example you may wish to register your-server.com, your-server.net and
your-server.org and link them to the same website.

Virtual
host
A virtual host is a domain pointing to a subdirectory of your virtual server.
You may link www.company1.com to /htdocs/website1 and www.company2.com to /htdocs/website2
on the same virtual server, without having to pay additional service fees.

SSL
SSL (Secure Soket Layer) is a protocol created by Netscape for authentication
and encryption over TCP/IP networks.

CGI/Perl
We support CGI (Common Gateway Interface) and the latest version of Perl. Each
virtual servers comes with its own private /cgi-bin directory.
SSI
Server Side Includes, also known as Server Parsed HTML, provides a convenient
way of performing server-side processing on an HTML file before it is sent to
the client. SSI provides a set of dynamic features, such as including the
current time or the last modification date of the HTML file without developing a
CGI program that performs this function. SSI can be considered as a server-side
scripting language.

ASP (Active Server Pages) is Microsoft's technology for creating dynamic pages.
An Active Server Page is a normal HTML page that includes server-side scripts.
With ASP you can display the current time, process user forms, display records

Cron
Cron is a standard Unix daemon that starts when the system boots and remins
running as long as the system is up. This daemon reads a configuration file of
